Investigation of leaky buildings and advice relating to repair and remediation. KEY OBJECTIVES
The benefits of our services include:
THE FUNCTIONS OF THE "LEAKY BUILDING" SPECIALIST The primary functions of a leaky building specialist are to identify the causes of failure, to design an appropriate solution and to ensure that the work is implemented correctly. It is often a requirement of the Territorial Authority and Building Control Authority, that the specialist accept responsibility for the process. We have developed our design and management systems to ensure that the repair works undertaken by us are completed to standards that exceed the minimum performance requirements of the New Zealand Building Code and the requirements of the Territorial Authorities and Building Control Authorities. The design and remediation process involves a combination of the various investigative, reporting and project management skills, offered within our range of services. These skills are supported by extensive Professional Indemnity Insurance cover of a type only available to recognised specialists in this field who can demonstrate experience and competence in remediation processes. A consulting agreement is prepared that clearly defines the relationship between ourselves and our client and if other sub-consultants are required, we are willing to separately contract with them on our client's behalf to ensure that the interests of our client are fully protected. Alternatively, our client is free to make its own contractual arrangements with the sub-consultants. CONFIDENTIALITY We recognise that our client's dwelling is likely to be their most valuable asset and for this reason we will not divulge any information relating to the remediation works to the media or others not directly involved in the process without first obtaining specific permission to do so.
