Why are we the "trusted name in building consultancy"?
KLHB Building Consultants Limited offer dispute resolution and expert witness services for construction related matters to property owners, builders, government departments and building product suppliers, through either direct contact with the client, or through the client's legal representative.
Kevin Longman, the Managing Director, is a highly qualified and respected professional in his field. He is a Registered Building Surveyor, part of a small but elite group of experienced and highly trained people who specialise in consumer protection. As Kevin says "if we don't look after the interests of the building owner, who does?". Kevin stood down as President of the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors in August 2005 after four years of leading the Institute and the Country, through the leaky building crisis.
The identification of major weathertightness problems that finally erupted in 2001, causing the Government to investigate the systemic failure of the industry was first identified by members of the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors who had been shouting into the wilderness since 1999. Kevin has been part of the many task force committees and groups engaged to rectify those problems and to implement the new Building Act and on-going revisions to the Building Controls system.
